The Work of Byron Katie is a dead-simple process for gaining greater self-awareness. And if taken seriously and deeply, self-realization. It is a meditation on discovering what is true. To discover the difference between your thoughts and reality. Surprisingly, the two are often not in congruence with one another. And this internal discord is the source of all suffering.
The process consists of writing down any thought that causes stress or suffering. Then asking yourself four questions, taking the time to listen deeply for the answers to arise from beyond the habitual mind. And then, to “turn it around” or find radically different alternatives to the original thought.
I have benefited greatly by applying this simple but profound process to my thoughts. The superficial ones and the tenacious ones.
