Salvaged Barn Timbers
I picked up some salvaged timbers (Oak, Chestnut, and Pine) last week to use for a new photography project I’m working on. I’ll be building timber frames for large format prints of some of my abstracts. Stay tuned for more details.

american chestnut?
I believe so. Wormy Chestnut is what people call it. Which basically means the tree died of the blight, sat in the forest and got eaten by worms and beetles before someone found it and hauled it to the mill. The wood is filled with small holes, and it’s now sort of sought after by salvage aficionados for it’s character.
