Fence Bend
This small gap tells a story, extends an invitation to explore forbidden spaces, hints at adventure and mischeif.
Icy
This intersection of tiny details evokes a cool and calm mood
En\trance
The large crack across the pavement, running through this painted sign can shift the perception of the word from the noun to the verb: "fill someone with wonder and delight, holding their entire attention"
Standpipes
This sweet little composition feels like it could be a minimalist painting
Bacon
These Corten steel wall panels show the layers of hidden story between graffiti writers and property owners.
Upward Spiral
The geometries of this scene are exquisite: the efflorescence cascading from the corkscrew pattern on the concrete, the squat and stout cylinder base, the hexogonal steel plate and steel nuts, and the bottom of the steel pole completed by its shadow falling away in the distance
Rust + Yellow Paint
These eroding textures create a warm, earthy atmosphere
Twin Grasses
Sprout from the cracks in a wooden tressle bridge
Phantom Grid
This concrete sidewalk wears through, revealing a grid of rust- excavating hidden forces, telling a tiny story
Splash
Here multiple geometries overlap to create a subtle yet beautiful composition: the splash zone of rainfall, the curve of the silo, the grid of the steel frame inside, the undulations of the corrugated steel skin
Red Door
The stark geometry of this red door against the white block wall marks the entry to unknown spaces
Parallel
This mural stiches itself between the grasses and bushes below and the sky above
Hearts
A car driving through wet red paint leaves behind an enexpected story
Diamonds
A strong contrast between this rigid steel and glass structure in Seattle and the expanse of cloudy sky beyond
Overlay
Shadow patterns from a steel scaffolding above play on this corrugated steel silo
Vines
Growing thick on this concrete wall
Hydrant 12
The blue arrow called my attention to this handsome little urban fixture
Stop
Bus stop road scene
Leaves
A brief composition
Inflect
In this image twin silos seem to draw in towards one another as though gaurding the space beyond
Rivets
To me, this scene almost looks like an ancient emblem or crest
Finding beauty in the mundane. This gallery is a collection of intimate landscapes discovered while exploring the urban environment. Removed from their surrounding context, each image is the composition of a moment, capturing the ephemeral and sometimes turbulent processes of the city.
My aim here is the excavation of a hidden topography. One defined not by grandeur and speed, but instead hinted at, traced lovingly – revealing subtle elements. Reminding us that beauty is always available to us, it is only necessary to look more closely. Sometimes with slightly different eyes.
