i was outside this afternoon on another amazing, though perhaps unseasonably warm day, as the sun began to set and the light began to do that thing. i ran around for i little while and made some fun photos. below are the results. enjoy!

An amazing spring thunderstorm rolled in a few days ago, right along with sunset. It was stunning.

Salvaged Barn Timbers

I picked up some salvaged timbers (Oak, Chestnut, and Pine) last week to use for a new photography project I’m working on. I’ll be building timber frames for large format prints of some of my abstracts. Stay tuned for more details.

Enka Factory Shoot

I went with Rene and a new friend Liz this weekend to shoot at an old paper factory that’s being torn down. Liz is a costume designer and brought some of her antiquish wares to juxtapose with the post-industrial scenery. It never ceases to amaze me how even ugliness can be beautiful… if you look at it right.

Forest Abstracts

I shot this series when I was out hiking and camping at a local spot up on the Blue Ridge Highway called Shining Rock. It’s pretty spectacular and your long hike out is rewarded by your encounter with an enormous white granite outcropping on the face of the mountain.
